White Sox Theme Wedding?
Ok here it goes… My fiance and I love the Chicago White Sox. His dream was to get married at U.S Cellular (aka Comisky Park), but since I would rather be married in a church, I have decided to go with a sox theme wedding. If you don’t know what the colors are for the white sox, it is black and white. I do not want to go with a black and white wedding, so how would I be able to incorporate the chicago white sox into my wedding?
Ideas so far: place card holders that look like tickets to the park
a 2005 world series cake (mini version) and a traditional wedding cake
Wedding party being announced as “Now for your starting line up…(then announces the bridal party as we all walk through the door wearing jersey’s.
that is all I can think of… I still need some ideas for bridesmaid dresses, flowers and decor. If I decide on this wedding it will be in the fall. If I choose a spring wedding I will have something completely different.

You could use gloves, bats and balls as decor. Your centerpieces could be baseball themed with a glove, ball and white sox pennent sticking up. You could even borrow enough gloves ot not have to buy any, which is a big bonus. Your tables could be named after players or have the numbers match jerseys and make the table number look like a mini-jersey (paper or cardboard cutout or something like that). Your groomsmen could all have white sox ballcaps and socks for the reception and the girls could carry bats, gloves and balls into the reception (love the line up aspect!). You could have a “first pitch” instead of a first dance where you and your fiance play catch for the first time as a married couple (then you dance, of course). You could play fun songs like “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” during the cake cutting. You could give out peanuts and popcorn in White Sox decor bags as favors. There are tons of options!!!
Good luck!
i don;t have any ideas..but I just wanted to say that’s an awesome wedding theme!!!!
good luck!!!
Very cute!!!! You could also have a White Sox garter and tie some White Sox ribbon into your bouquet and the wedding party’s bouquets and bouttennieres.
If your wedding colors are something blue, maroon or yellow, then that will all match the black and white quite well. You could also add some baseballs into the ring bearer pillow. Check out the White Sox wedding stuff below:
“Kristy’s” ideas are great! My brother and his wife had a Red Sox/fenway park theme, and it was fantastic! The groom’s cake was Fenway Park, and the placecards looked like tickets to a game! They carried their theme all the way through from the save-the-date stuff to the favor containers (mini chinese take-out boxes with scoreboards printed on them). It worked SO well!
