What is the going rate of cash for a wedding gift these days?

I want to give cash as a wedding gift. What would be a fair amount???? The last wedding I went to I gave 100.00.

Whatever you can afford and are comfortable with. Don’t give it if you can’t afford it.

I think it really depends upon how close you are to the couple. If it’s your sister, think big, like $100. If it’s your second cousin, twice removed, go for $25. In any amount, feel comfortable with your decision. Nothing worse than feeling like you didn’t give enough, or worse, that you gave too much.

    cheers!

They probley be happy with what they give them, because when a couple is first married, they are happy w/anything that they get for their wedding…

A LOT DEPENDS ON THE RECEPTION AND WHAT KIND OF FOOD THEY HAVE ,IF THEIR IS AN OPEN BAR. ALL THOSE GOOD THINGS. I ALWAYS GIVE $100 IF I GO BY MYSELF IF I BRING SOMEONE WITH ME THEN I WILL GIVE 150 OR 200 DEPENDS.

It depends on how close you are to the bride or groom and what part of the country you live in. I am in the midwest where cost of living is cheaper and salaries are lower. My cash gifts ranged from $15-$50 from friends and $50-$1000 from family.

if you are close to the person give what you can afford, if it is for a person who you are just friendly with 50 or 75.00. I gave my cousins $123.45 for a giggle.
