Keep in mind the comfort of ALL your guests. If you have a fair number of people your parents’ age, they will run screaming from the room if you play club music. They might even go psycho and start beating people. (OK, maybe that would just be my own reaction.)

Try for something middle of the road. After about 11:00 or so, many of the older crowd will go home and your DJ can start to introduce more contemporary music.

I would suggest to have a DJ. An experienced DJ will have a full playlist which is a mix of modern and classic dance music, something for everyone.

If you are doing your own music here are some sites with the top party music. I would suggest to play a wide mix so everyone has a good time. Also the Electric Slide, Macarena, YMCA are popular choices to get people on the dance floor.

its your wedding so i don’t believe that there can be inappropriate music as long as you like it, but if your lookin for suggestions you can’t go wrong with paradise by the dashboard lights its a fun song and fun to dance to.

A good host always considers their guests so think about your guests. You’ll want to please a large variety of people in probably many different age groups. Speak to your DJ or band leader and ask for their guidance. He will probably suggest certain types of music for specific times during the reception. If you have a good wedding DJ or band they will know what to play. Heed his advice.

You should have a collection of your favorite songs, but also have some across-the-board popular dance music, so that your guests will also enjoy themselves. If you have invited a number of “old people” I would suspect they will be quite generous with their gifts to you, and will be most grateful if you return the favor by making sure they have a good time dancing at your reception. You and your friends should also have music you can enjoy together. Variety is the key for this type of occasion.

Yeah its your wedding. Maybe you can have the same type of music u normally listen to but make sure the DJ plays the edited/radio versions so u wont offend anybody.
