What do you study to become a party planner?

What would you study in college to become a wedding/party planner and how do you get in the business? Also on average how much do people usually make per party they plan

Hospitality and Management courses are probably your best bet. There are also courses available in certain colleges simply labeled “Event Management”. That’d be right up your alley, I imagine.
Commission on large events usually ranges somewhere between 10-20%. Of course like all client-based businesses, event management profits will depend on a lot of different factors.
A good idea might be to talk to people who are already working in the industry. Send a few emails! You’d be surprised how helpful people can be.
i would just study business and if your school offers it, you may be able to get a degree in event planning. i know at my school (belmont university) we do not offer a specific event planning degree, but we do offer many classes that help with event planning and what not.
the best way to get in the business is to network yourself. always be willing to get to know new people as much as possible. the more people you meet, the more the positive word-of-mouth spreads around about your services and the best thing about word-of-mouth is its free and workd very well if you use it properly.
i really dont know how much people make per party because i am not a party planner. i am sure that it is based on how well you are marketed, how good your services are, and how many people are expected to make it to this party.
i hope all of this helps you out!
