We are getting married in the spring of 08′ and we want to get a jump on ideas. We are just starting our planning so we would love any imput we can get. We have a plabe in St paul that we are getting married but we are still looking for a place in MN preferrably in twin cities to have a very large and beautiful elegant reception but still one that is not too pricy. We thought about outdoors but I am not really leaning that direction. Any ideas? also any other helpful tips? What about colors? places to look for dresses in Twin cities? We have family coming in from out of town and we want it to be something that everyone enjoys and remembers… thanks in advance!

I am getting married in June of 07 and found lots of great accessories, favors, and other stuff at customweddingsolutions.com. They have tons of elegant, but not overpriced, stuff. They were very helpful.
My general advice is to invest in an etiquette book written by a well-respected author, before you do any planning. No one will remember what your wedding colors were, but people remember a bride with poor etiquette for generations. I recommend anything Miss Manners has written.
Spend the extra money on a good, approved photographer. The day will pass, let the memories live on. Whatever you do, RESEARCH your photographer. Make sure you check with the Better Business Bureau in your area that he/she has a good record. We unfortunately did not do this and our photographer turned out to be a DISASTER.
