Wedding Budget, help……..?

I’ve always dreamed of my wedding as a little girl, and I always wanted a fairytale wedding. And I love the show platinum wedding, so I want something huge and drop dead georgous. I want like everything, so do you think I could do a platinum wedding on a 100,000 dollar budget. I know its way more than the average wedding, but both my fiance and I have worked really hard, so we’re not exactly struggling. And this wedding I want to be extravagent, like a platinum wedding, what do you think?
btw, how much is a really really good wedding planner and decorator.
were not being selfish people, we have the money because he’s a surgeon and I’m a doctor, and to whoever sent me that email. I am religous, i do donate to charity, we already have a house, we went to college on scholarships, and for once after scrimping by to make ends meet, i’m going to do something extravegent, and not feel like a horrible sinful person.

maybe you may have to cutback on somethings or help out yoursef but i think you could stil have your dream wedding on that. you also are going to have to shop around and find a little better deals then they do but…and if you and your fiance both work very hard i think you should hire a planner no matter what they really can help you out with things and sometimes get you better deals or free stuff

Oh you definitely can do a platinum wedding for $100K plus more! Prices vary among wedding planners, so you need to pick three, interview them, ask them what services they provide and ask them to show you pics.

If you can afford to spend that much, why not ask one of those planners that the celebrities use? They know how to go all out.

It’s your special day,and if you already have the money saved for the wedding,go for it. I would only caution you that if you hit hard times in say 10 years-will you regret spending that much on one day? For a full service wedding planner, start with them a year ahead. They take care of EVEYTHING. But their prices may be 25% of your total budget. For your $100,000,plan on spending $25,000 for their services.

First of all that much money will do a seriously wonderful wedding. Honestly, I know people that have spent less and regretted spending the money they did. Why not take the bulk of the money and buy a house or a small vacation home. This is only one day in your life and it would be a shame to spend that much money on just a couple of hours. My wedding was about $1000 including the honey moon and we are just as married as you will be and we are just as happy. Most people don’t make that kind of money in a year or two. Donate some to a needy charity and God will shine down his blessings on you.

    Congratulations and Good Luck!

I say if that’s the wedding you want, that’s the wedding you should have. It’s nobody’s business what you spend your money on! If you can afford the wedding of your dreams, then by all means, have that dream wedding! Go for it and to all of you who say she’s selfish, you’re just jealous!

you are setting yourself up for nasty comments here as a lot of people will call that showing off. If I had that amount of spare cash then of course I would spend more on my wedding, but even I would struggle to spend that much on a one day event. I guess if you can afford it then great, expense is relative to what you earn.

If you can afford it without going into debt, then go for it! Get what you want!

If $100,000 is what you are willing and able to spend, then a good planner will be able to help you accomplish that. That being said, a good planner will also listen to your dreams and vision, as well as your guest count and let you know whether all your dreams can come true or not for that amount!

It sounds like you’ve worked really hard. Just let this day be about you. A wedding is one fantastic day that you can never get back or change. I know personally that if you don’t have what you want you’ll regret it. I’m not saying that you should spend all of the $100 000 but you can find alternatives. If it ends up being that much then you can afford it and you’ll know that you’ve done everything in your power to find compromizes.
    Good Luck!!

Do not worry about what people say about you wanting a gala wedding, it is your wedding and you are paying for it yourself, so who needs to say more? Do all you can to make yourself happy, and HAVE YOUR PLATINUM WEDDING, but please get yourself a wedding planner so that you will not be overwhelmed by all the preparations and events that it will involve. It sounds like a lovely time and have a wonderful life together.
