Crap- I forgot about our one year wedding anniversary & now I only have 1 week to plan something- what do I do?

My husband and I are coming up on our one year wedding anniversary Saturday the 30th, and there’s so much going on that I just completely forgot until now.

We have a three month old son so I was busy planning his first father’s day.
Then right after father’s day we are taking a three week long road trip across country so I’ve been reserving hotel rooms and making packing lists for that.
And the week we come back from our trip is my husband’s birthday so I’ve been working on what to do for his birthday.

I’m sure I can get a babysitter for our son, no problem, my sister can watch him for a couple hours.

I love to cook and I’m constantly making his favorite foods, so “special dinners” just aren’t special anymore.

And unfortunately I can’t do any “sexy” surprises
I’m getting an IUD the day before our anniversary and the OBGYN (as well as several of my gal-pals) have all told me that I’ll probably be too sore to have sex for a couple of days.

I want to do something nice…its just that I’ve already exhausted all of my creative energy planning his first father’s day and this trip and his birthday
So any thoughts on what I can do or a gift I can give him would be greatly appreciated-

I have given my husband oral sex everyday since the day we got married
and besides the three weeks after our son was born, my sexual appetite is higher than my husbands

by the way- we didn’t marry because we were pregnant, we got engaged and picked our wedding date BEFORE we got pregnant

Best way to plan a budget wedding?

I am looking to get married next year and i do not have a big budget maybe at the most 2,000 bucks. i am starting to buy things here and there when i see them on sale, and haveing family members take the pics and i have a family member who is a dj so i get that dicounted too, but is there more i can do to save me money?
I am using fake flowers, we have dollar stores here where i can get 5-7 flowers for a dollar same withe the ring bearer pillow that was a dollar, and since i am crafty i am going to add my own things to the pillow, we plan on having a buffet style dinner where his and my parents and grandparents make the food but we pay for most of that, i plan on gettin my dresses at deb where they are cheap and i can put them on lay away!

Grandma with alzheimer’s can’t come to wedding Help. What do you think of our plan?

Our daughter is getting married in Texas to a great guy. We are thinking of hosting a “celebration” party in Wisconsin in a large private room at the facility where grandma now resides. Our thought is that a family gathering will enable grandma to not only meet our daughter’s fiance but to feel like she was part of a marriage celebration, without going to the wedding (we haven’t yet broken that news to her). The celebration party would be instead of a more traditional bridal shower and would include men/couples, not just women. We would expect many family members to come to the celebration who likely will not travel out-of-state to the wedding. Our daughter would prefer a financial “gift” rather than more stuff (she doesn’t have a home or room to store any traditional wedding or shower gifts). Is it appropriate to suggest/encourage such a gift in connection with the “celebration” party? If so, how? On a mailed invitation rather than an evite? How might such suggestion be worded? YOUR ADVICE IS VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.

They are getting married and they are planning the wedding. The bride’s family expects them to serve venison and chocolate moose for the reception. They both agree that’s two deer and they don’t have a lot of doe. Should they pass the buck and tell the family to pay for it themselves? Should my friends just forget the wedding antelope instead?

I have been asked to be my friend’s Best Man for his wedding. I have to plan the stag and I need help!?

I have been to part of one stag (a mutual friend of mine and the friend I’m being Best Man for) but that’s it. I went to the strip club with them but they also had supper before that but I wasn’t there for that part because they thought the groom’s father might find it weird that a girl was there but since he wasn’t invited to the strip club part, I got to go to that.

And just for the record: Yes, I’m a girl. No, I’m not gay. I’m married to a man. I will be in the wedding party as the Best Man and I will wear a tux just like the groomsmen (the groom’s two brothers). My husband is invited (they were friends in high school and still are friends) but not part of the wedding party.

Anyway.

What am I supposed to plan? Is it supposed to include a meal? I have no problem with strip clubs but we can’t have anyone to the house because I have a child and don’t really have a big enough house to have people over for that anyway. We can just show up at the strip club, right? I don’t have to arrange anything with the place ahead of time, do I?

We all play Halo on a semi regular basis (used to be weekly but we’ve all gotten busier as we’ve gotten older). Is that something you’d do with a big group of guys that that enjoy (really enjoy) playing. We could add in drinking or something lol. Is that too childish (we’re all about 26-33 in the core group of friends and family).

None of the guys are sports fans AT ALL. Most especially the groom. He doesn’t watch them, follow them, play them – nothing. He is active though. He’s in good shape and is currently doing P90X (I’m doing it with him when I can). Is there something we can do that’s active (go carts, paintball, etc) that’s not inappropriate or childish?

Is it ok to ask the groom what he wants or do I have to make it up all on my own. Can I ask his brothers for help?

I really want to do a good job and not let me friend down. I’m going to look online for ideas and get a ‘how to’ book but I thought some real opinions and suggestions would be good.

lol I’m not asking the bride’s permission. I know my friend respects his fiance enough to make the right decision, whether that’s to go to a strip joint or not.
