I need help!!! I am looking for a place to have a ceremony and reception all outside, hopefully in a garden or on the water setting. I am looking to have it anywhere between sacramento, ca and Turlock, ca. Any ideas? oh and i am realy realy trying to keep the cost down, i would also perfer to do my own catering.

Is it a good idea to use a fabric canopy (makeshift) instead of a tent for my outdoor wedding ceremony?

I am having a very short wedding ceremony (30 minutes maximum) in December in Jamaica. Since in JA we almost always have lots of sunshine there is concern about the comfort of the guests. Further the area is irregular in shape and hence require more tents which cost more. I am not prepared to spend lots of money for just a half an hour. So I was thinking maybe a makeshift fabric (sheer) canopy may diffuse most of the sunlight and give an ethereal effect for the garden wedding. Any suggestions about whether this is a good idea or a cheaper alternative to tents.

Getting ready for outdoor garden wedding ceremony at the Rectory in Glandore West Cork, Ireland. Red carpet setup with candles along the aisle. Pew end flowers at the end of the seats. I am looking for an area to have an outdoor wedding ceremony. Its important that they do not require us to have the reception there also. Some place I have checked are: Avon Gardens, White River Gardens, Post Road Park, Eagle Creek Park, Garfield Park. Do you have any ideas of other outdoor areas?

I am just looking for a place to have a nice OUTDOOR ceremony for about 50 people. NO reception or catering needed. (i plan on having the reception at a near by friends house)

I’m having a sunflower themed wedding and outdoor, country style reception and need more ideas…?

This is what we have in mind so far:

Mason jars with sunflowers in them
Baby food jar candles with the labels removed and tied with raffia
Mason jar (either different size or shape than the ones used as vases) citronella candles to hang from the trees
Fresh lemonade served from metal washtubs
Cake, homemade ice cream and lemonade on an old chipped white picnic table from the groom’s mom’s house where we are having the reception
Maybe sprigs of wheat or brome hay in the vases/bouquets
