I want a nice looking wedding, but small and not very expensive. I don’t have a lot of cash and would like to keep the wedding as low cost as possible, because I am planning on flying a few family members here.

So my question is, how much was your wedding? Where was it located (church, beach, park, etc)? And how long did it take for you to save the money for this wedding?

I have 6 weddings this summer. They are old college roommates (that I haven’t really stayed in touch with) and older high school friends (same situation). I really like all these folks and I don’t want to appear to be cheap. Here are the facts:
All of the weddings are out of state.
I will be going without a date.
1 will require airfare (~$250)
1 a 10 hour drive.
Half of them will require that I book at least 2 nights in a hotel.
3 will also involve some form of bachelor party/stag beforehand.

An online gift calculator suggested that for the wedding I have to fly to I should give a gift of -$25 (that is negative $25, meaning they would pay me). How can I survive this summer of weddings while having a good time, not losing friends and still having enough money to afford ramen noodles once the semester starts up? Thanks…
