I am looking for ideas for wedding centerpieces without flowers or fruit or fish.?

I am on a very limited budget. I would like some ideas for wedding centerpieces. I do not really care for candles but I might be able to change that opinion. No flowers, greenery, plants, or fish. Prefer no water as there will be kids around and I do not want to clean up a huge puddle on my wedding day. Help!!!

my sister and her fiance built their house together and have all the household things they need… it is their wedding in 3 weeks and i want to give them something really good that they will remember… i was thinking of getting them a couples spa package for something different and they can relax and unwind after the busy time they have had…

i just wanted to know if anyone has any other ideas because i really wanted to get them something memorable but something that doesn’t cost the earth as we are on a fairly tight budget…

any suggestions?

I’m planning my wedding and I want it to be fun. Guest come because of the reception. I plan on having the normal stuff, dancing, bouquet toss, garder toss, cake, dinner, all that, but I want something different then the average reception everyone has. Any fun ideas?? I’m putting a lot of money and effort into the wedding itself, so I don’t have much left over to help her out, but she’s really having a bit of a breakdown between plans and her job…she only has one night off a week and I want to do something special for her that’s not too awkward or cheesy.

My idea is to have her over for a nice dinner (she’s vegetarian – meal ideas?!? I’m a pure carnivore and am kind of at a loss!) and let her borrow my bathroom for a luxurious bath in my claw footed tub she’s been lusting after and give her a facial and pedicure kit to kind of pamper herself while I stay at my mother in law’s house. My sister”s relocating from out of state and has been living at our mother’s house for months until the wedding so I figure just giving her free reign of my house to lounge around in her robe and watch television or whatever while I babysit her son elsewhere might be a nice treat for her.

I’m just curious what I should add to this – I know it seems kind of chintzy or cheesy but it’s a gift from the heart and I’m just looking at other ways to make it special for her, this simple night of no worries.

An amazing dessert…movie rental selections that will help her cry to relieve some of her stress…heck, even a bubble bath scent recommendation would be helpful. Any ideas whatsoever? She means a lot to me and I’d give her the moon if I had it, but like I said I’m kind of tapped out and need some down-home ideas.

Inexpensive wedding Reception ideas in Las Vegas?

I am getting married at the Monte Carlo in Las Vegas on Aug 14th and there Reception is expensive. I am just looking for a place to cut the cake and to have Champagne or a wine toast. I’m looking for places to throw a little reception. Thank you

Do you have any other ideas on how to make wedding guests feel more included?

We’re having a backyard wedding with immediate family and close friends only. We want to create an intimate, casual vibe and we want everyone to feel like they are a part of our wedding since we are not having a wedding party. Here are some ideas we have so far:

1) Putting a section up on our wedding website so that guests can select a few songs they’d like played at the reception (on our ipod). For the guests that are married, we’re asking them to share their ‘first dance’ song so that we can honor them with it at the reception.

2) Having circular seating during the ceremony as opposed to rows. We think this creates a more inclusive vibe and does away with the hierarchy that row seating can imply. Plus our guests will be encircling us with their support (visually, at least).

3) Passing the rings around to guests during the ceremony so they can hold them in their hands and, if they wish, bless them or silently pray over them. Plus we just think this makes them feel a part of what’s going on.

Do you have any other ideas on how we can make our guests feel a part of things? Please keep in mind our ENTIRE wedding budget is just $1,000 so expensive ideas won’t be doable.

The weddings I’ve enjoyed the most are the ones I’ve felt most included at. Those, for me, are the most memorable too.

I want to include my fiance in the wedding planning. I feel bad because it seems like he feels left out. I’ve asked him to write a song on his computer with his guitar and to record that song. That song will be played at the wedding reception. Do you have any other creative ideas that my fiance could do to help take part in the wedding planning? It doesn’t need to be music related. I just wan’t him to feel apart of this process.
