Black Dress v. Summer Wedding?

Here’s the deal:

August Wedding, indoors, ceremony at 5 pm, reception to follow (also indoors) in Washington DC. My boyfriend will be wearing a tux as he is one of the Best Men. Her bridesmaids are wearing a dark red/maroon (which isn’t exactly summery). Can I wear a black dress?

It’s a fairly formal black dress (Satin, tea-length, strapless, empire waist). I’m thinking if I wear some chunky jewelry it’ll help dress it down.

What’s the verdict?

Should I donate my wedding dress?

My husband and I got married on June 6. I absolutely love my dress but I have no idea what to do with it! I don’t want to preserve it and have it sitting in a box the rest of my life. We’re also not religious so we wouldn’t be using it to make a christening dress for a child.

I’d like the money to go towards an animal shelter or something alone those lines…. Should I sell the dress and then take that money and donate it? Where would I sell it?

Do you think it’s bad luck if I sell it while we’re married? I always hear of people donating their wedding dresses after they get divorced, never really right after the wedding….

Any suggestions are welcome!

I have my mind set on a white, strapless, long, chiffon style dress! Do you think this would be cute?

Help with wedding dress cover ideas…?

So my wedding is on November 25 and we live in Oklahoma. November weather here is hit and miss. It could be mild or it could be freezing. (That close to winter cold is more likely but you never know in this freak state – we could have a hurricane for all it mattered and no one would think it was weird). Either way I have a strapless dress and need some suggestions as to what to wear with it for travel and maybe at the reception if I get cold. (Obviously I won’t be wearing it at the ceremony)

My wedding colors are a muted royal blue and and dark minty green. My wedding is inside as is my reception. I thought about a wrap but I’m horrible with those and they are kind of constricting since you have to hold them in place. Any suggestions and where I can get these things for not much money?

When you take your wedding portrait in your wedding dress with your husband, to have at the reception, how can that be possible if I do not want him to see me before in the dress before the wedding…just don’t take the picture??

Hi ladies,

My wedding is in may2010 and i went dress shopping and fell in love with 2 dresses…the first one i like the most and found someone online selling it brand and bought it for half the price. so i said i’m done searching and I am not looking at dresses anymore..but. i dont know I keep going back to the second dress both are totally different and I dont know how to make a decision, I mean I did already but I’m even thinking I should sell the one i got and get the other..

has anyone had this problem…how should I make up my mind?

I mean I love my Paloma dress, so since i’m not sure i think i should go back to the other store and try to La Sposa one more time????
