Wedding venue will not contact us back?

We live in pittsburgh and plan to marry in memphis. we have contacted a venue(for both the ceremony and reception) that we really like. my FH spoke on the phone with their event coordinator. She told us our date was available and they spoke breifly. A few days after that we received bad news and went to memphis for a funeral. we were able to steal a few hours on a sunday to look at the place in person (as it was open). We paid admission fees to the space and the clerk highlighted the spaces that people use for wedding. we snooped around a bit and decided we really liked it. A few days after returning to pittsburgh, my FH tried calling the woman back. She has not returned his calls. A little over a week after that, I went online to get contact info and found a rental form they have. I filled it out. the site said someone should contact us within 48, and no one has contacted us.

How would you feel about this situation? We really like the venue but them not contacting us back is really putting us off.
we toured the place after the big flooding down there. everything appeared to be well kept and they were tearing down from a wedding the day before. his mother, who lives 15 mins from the venue, has not reported any weather capable of doing damage since we have left, and trust me she would let us know. she loves talking about the weather.

also i think we wouldn’t be as perplexed about it if their website didn’t say we would be contacted with in 48 hours. She returned his call before the next day after he left a message.

there is a number listed for hosting daytime events (which ours is more afterhours/weekend), perhaps i will call that and see where it leads me

Should I pay him back?

My boyfriend broke up with me yesterday on valentines day, because he feels that i needed to pay him back money that was charged on his credit card, with his permission, for gifts purchased for my children from the both of us, and to his family as well.
We had just spent a wonderful two days together and he told me that he loved me on Weds. before going home. And then the very next day he does this.
I have done alot for him and helped him out so much, and showed him all the time how much I care about him, and he just does not acknowlege it. And he breaks it off over 300 dollars. Makes me wonder if he really did love me like he said he did.
Should I just give him the money, or pay half, I’m not sure what to do.

Can some wedding RSVPs include replying on our wedding site instead of sending back a card? Save $ on stamps?

It is a slightly formal evening wedding.
We have a website that most of our guests know about. We could have them RSVP on the site instead of mailing us back a card. Some of ouf family members we would still have to do a formal RSVP card for because they do not have computers.

Any Ideas? I have clients who are getting married in Oct after the Fall back time change…?

Ok so they are getting married outdoors. Their Photographer suggested that they do so around 4:30pm so that they can take advantage of the natural sunlight for pictures before sunset 6:00 (extra lighting equiptment is not in their budget). So the problem is that the Ceremony is only going to be about 20 minutes tops. After that Pictures for newlyweds & wedding party. I need to come up with some ideas for the rest of the guests to do After Ceremony but Before Dinner. Dinner is not being served till 7:00 . I don’t want to specifically ask for games because many people do not believe that games should be played at a wedding but if you have any by all means please respond. I am more specifically asking for ideas on activities so that the guests & children do not get restless or bored & leaving early .

I am the DJ not the Wedding Planner, RS. SMARTY PANTS 10/18/08. I offered to help them come up with some ideas to suggest to them.
Hence the name DJ!!!!!!!! If i were I wouldn’t be asking here.
I suggested doing the pictures prior to the ceremony but they want to stick to the tradition of the groom not seeing the bride till she walks down the isle.
I have made many excellent suggestions there are many things I have offered to do for them. I am doing this on my own time to try to help a couple with limited resources because I am a Professional DJ. They do not have the money to pay me for additional time or services I start working at 7. I am looking for more suggestions that are inexpensive & creative.

I’ll try to make this short. My SO & I have been together for 5 years, we took a 9 mth break when we were in high school (after 1 yr, so we’ve been together 4 yrs consecutively). We have 2 children. About 1 mth after our 2nd was born, he started talking to his ex behind my back. This ex is a girl he dated immediately after we broke up (I believe he cheated on me w/ her). They dated for like 2 whole mths, she was meth user who cheated on him often. As far as I know they haven’t talked for at least 4 yrs. He got a hold of an old friend, she was there and then he started a “friendship” w/ her. He gave her at least $150 to “fix her car so she could take her kid to daycare”. Who knows what she used for it for. He is a pretty generous guy, always gives money to panhandlers, donates to charities, helps his friends whenever he can. But c’mon, her?! Plus, as far as I know he’s never given his friends that much. Anyways, I had a feeling he was talking to her and he just kept saying “nope, of course not!” He’d even get at mad me, saying I should know him better. I was trying to plan our wedding & take care of our children, while he was making fake email accounts & staying up late to talk to her. He claims it was to get back at me for openly being friends w/ my ex. I’ve been friends w/ him for 6+ yrs and we only dated 6 mths before deciding we were better as friends. I always asked SO if he was ok w/ it & he always told me he didn’t mind. For the record, he uses the same kind of reason for dating her in the first place, he thought I was cheating on him so he wanted to get back at me. Oh, and if you are wondering what he talking about with her, it was how horrible I am & how fed up he is w/ me. Which he was telling several people at the time, he claims due to the stress of our 2nd baby.
The whole time we were not together, he’d call all the time wanting to get back together. Even when he was w/ this girl. So when I decided to take him back, we chose to talk about what happened & then leave it in the past. I feel like he brought the past back up by talking to her. Well, I’m trying hard to work it out w/ him for the kids, but I feel betrayed, disrespected and very hurt. I feel like she’s the one he’s wanted to be w/ this whole time. I don’t know if I’m just being..petty? over this whole thing, or if I have every right to feel how i do.
And for the record, we’ve both ended communication w/ our ex’s.

I’ll try to be as short a s possible. Now we are separated. I bought it for her because we were shopping one day and she really liked it. I gave it to her because we had a wedding two weeks ago and she wanted to wear it there. Not even a week after the wedding she wanted to take a step back. A couple of weeks before that she told me she cheated on me with her ex-bf, and she knew I was scarred of that because he was sending her texts like I want to you to c*m over, and I want you in my bed. When I found out that he was sending these texts, I started to try to be someone I wasn’t, I tried to be perfect, do and say everything right, because I felt threatened. I wasn’t enjoying myself because I was too worried about her going back to this guy that did treat her like crap. She told me I had nothing to worry about. Anyway I forgave her becuase I really do care for her and love her, and we have a lot fun together doing everything and anything. She told her cousin that she would give me another chnace, I know, I am crazy. It’s been two weeks and I now know what I did and why, and I feel so much better about myself, and I have more confidence. I asked her for another chance and she gave me two different answers, one was she doesn’t know what she wants and the other was the love wasn’t what she expected, and she thinks she wants someone macho. I know I am a strong person, I have overcome a a lot, I beat a nasty drug habit and I am now almost three years clean from opiates. I know a lot of what I did in the relationship was wrong, trying to be someone I wasn’t, whinning and being a baby. I know I am myself today. When we decided to take a step back she said we would still hangout and everything. Everytime I ask her to hangout it’s always soemthing, but we talk everyday and night. I really hate to do this, but I am getting really pissed that I gave her another chnace and she won’t give me one, and I want to take the necklace back and find someone who will really appreciate it. I gave her the necklace because we both assumed we would be together for christmas, Do I ask for it back? Do I give it more time? and give her a little more space?

I know I am crazy for asking for another chance and getting her a gift after she cheated on me, but I can’t help it, I really do care about her so much, and just want another chnace, like she told me she would, and she told her cousin. Sorry for the long story/question, and thank you in advance for your help.

Did your ex come back in the picture right before the wedding? How did you handle that?
