My wedding in October will have about 150 people, what types of mixers should I get to stock the bar?

It’s an outdoor wedding with an indoor facility on the same property for the reception.
We are not trying to be the local bar but I want to have the basics (besides beer) to keep everyone happy.
How much of each spirit should I get?

Get everything you can think of. I’m sure that everyone would love a variety of drinks. Try some of these.
-Sex on the beach
-Gray Goose
-Brandi
-Vodka
-Jellow Shots
-A variety of wines
-Magaritas
-Champagne
-Tequilla
-Highballs
-Whiskey
-Rum
-Sangria
-Mudslides
-Shots
&Don’t forget the glasses for them all !
-Beer mug
-Brandy snifter
-Champagne flute
-Cocktail glass
-Coffee mug
-Collins glass
-Cordial glass
-Highball glass
-Hurricane glass
-Margarita/coupette glass
-Mason jar
-Old-fashioned glass
-Parfait glass
-Pousse cafe glass
-Punch bowl
-Red wine glass
-Sherry glass
-Shot glass
-Whiskey sour glass
-White wine glass
*Remember that everyone likes different things, so satisfy them, they are your guests.
your standard mixers should be:
cranberry juice
orange juice
tonic water
soda water
and your soft drinks
have plenty of lemon and lime on hand- generally I find that at weddings most will drink beer/wine/champagne, but you should consider having at least 2 bottles of liquor for every 6 people. Make it a combination of liquors- most poplular I found at my wedding was vodka, tequilla and scotch. We had about 300 people, had so much rum left over and hand to make a store run for more vodka. Unless you know if the majority of your people drink rum, I would skip it all together.
No No
ask the groom to get his buddies to get a list and assign the items to help with cost.. I go to a pot luck
I bring a 30 pack JUST because The host can keep any left overs
Stocking a bar requires some skill. . to avoid waste
If you are on a budget, stick with only a few different items.
beer, wine and and like 2 or 3 mixers
like cranberry and vodka
rum and coke
sex on the beach
I wouldn’t go as all out as some people are telling you. It’s not necessary. Stick to the basics:
2-3 bottles vodka
2-3 Rum
1 Gin ( not many people will drink it.) none if you don’t know anyone that drinks gin.
1 or 2 tequila ( if you are interested in having margaritas, in which case you’d also need margarita mix, limes and triple sec, or if you’re ok with people doing shooters at your reception. Some people don’t like it to go that far.)
1 bottle scotch ( again if you think anyone you know will drink it. Also not always popular with people)
1-2 bottles bourbon
get cans of soda for mixers…cola, diet cola, 7up…
also get basic fruit juices: orange, pineapple, cranberry
are you going to have a bartender? or is everyone on their own? To ensure the alcohol lasts, it may be a good idea to have someone manning the bar and have jiggers on hand. Serve the drinks in the same proportions you’d get in a bar. IE: 1 1/4 oz alcohol to a single liquor drink…no more than 2 oz alcohol per glass. Leave people on their own with alcohol and it’s going to be gone before the party’s halfway done.
Also if you’re on a budget, don’t feel like it’s necessary to buy expensive liquors…most people can’t tell the difference anyway.
and as glasses go, people don’t care what they’re drinking out of. They’re just happy to have free alcohol. Go plastic all the way.
first off, make it a cash bar so you will still have money for your honeymoon =)
stock it with plenty of juices, coke and sprite and vodkas, rums, and cordials.
congrats and have fun!
