AFAIK, that’s perfectly acceptable. Are you being married by a priest?

In the US, most Catholic priests require that you get married in the church. Some of my friends had a difficult time finding a priest who would marry them outdoors on the beach. Ask around and hopefully you’ll find one too. If you’re from the US but getting married in the Philippines, maybe you can ask your priest over here whether he’d be willing to marry you there. You’d have to pay his travel expenses, but that’s not much compared to the total cost of a wedding anyway.

Catholic church especially in the Philippines is very strict when it comes to wedding, the best thing to do is have a simple wedding inside the church, only you and your partner and 2 sponsors. After that, plan for a garden wedding and invite the priest and tell him to conduct the ceremony. You have the garden wedding and still your good in the eyes of the Catholic church. :)
