How much money to give as a wedding gift?

I’m going to a wedding of an old friend. I’ve only seen her a few times lately – we’re both college seniors now but haven’t really hung out since junior high.
I went to her bridal shower and gave her a nice multi-picture frame. I’m just going to give cash or a check in a card for her wedding gift.
We both live in a rural area in the midwest. She’s having her reception at the local American Legion and she’ll be living on a farm, so don’t think this is some fancy cosmopolitan wedding.
I don’t have a job right now, so my budget is tight, but I don’t want to look cheap or make it seem like I don’t appreciate her inviting me to the wedding. Do you think 20 or 25 dollars is enough?
