I will admit to being a bit skeptical about purchasing shoes over the internet. I am a visual person, so I always like to know how something is going to look on me before buying. ( I hate having to deal with returning/shipping items as well)

I had checked out some department stores and some other shops at the mall. I did go to Steve Madden at the mall, and I saw these boots and wanted to try them on, but sadly they did not have my size. They were exactly what I was on the hunt for. A simple, classy and stylish boot that would not kill my feet if I were to wear them all day. So imagine my heartbreak when yet again my long size 10 feet were turned away.

I decided to try Amazon, since I had some luck in the past finding items on here, though shoe wear was never something I thought I’d buy on this site…….well I am so glad I did because not only was my size available, I got them for .00 cheaper!! Even better! (Free shipping too!:)

These boots are heaven to my feet. I love the length, (I have longer legs so I was worried where these would exactly fall on me, they fall just below my knee) I like the slight “positioned” slouch they have to them. These boots do not “pull down” when you walk in them, they stay put. With my previous pair of knee length boots I was always having to pull them up as they would “fall” after a bit. These don’t do that.

They are very comfortable to walk and be in. They are simple yet so stylish! I like the flat heel, it really makes for a comfortable fit. I have some high heeled boots, but after so long, your feet start screaming for a break. You’ll wear these all day without any tears.

I also recommend getting a suede protector spray, I got these in black, and with most suede boots, it will pick up dirt….you’re going to want protect these lovely boots for as long as you can!

Though I normally wear a size 6, I first got these in a 6.5 to be safe. They were too big, and one boot had a larger circumference than the other, so the looser one kept slipping down… Amazon has excellent customer service, so I was able to send them back as defective and order another pair (this was Thanksgiving so I also got a 30% off)

These boots are very well-made, they’re so soft and comfortable! They’re also really warm so I’m hoping they’ll keep me nice and comfy through the winter. The real suede is really nice so I sprayed it with suede protector. Highly recommend these!

Been using this for about a week or so. I’m a big etnies fan since the last couple of pairs lasted me a long time through my on-the-feet jobs.

I don’t know how durable this pair of shoes will be, but it’s comfortable and I like the chocolate suede material. I wear it to classes all the time.

After less than a month of normal wear as a college student walking around campus, there are already very visible wear and I am starting to wonder how durable this is, and whether or not I’m going to be able to wear it through the semester.

It’s comfortable, though.

Nunca antes había oído hablar de esta marca y fue en amazon donde la vi por 1ra vez y me anime a comprarlos, son unos zapatos hechos para durar, la calidad de los materiales que lo conforman son de primera, aunque me quedaron un poco apretados al comienzo (soy talla 11 pero hubiese sido mejor 11 1/2) no todas las ornas son iguales es cuestión de probar y decidirse. si en tu tienda local vendes esta marca pruébate la talla que mejor te calce y luego compralo por acá si te parece mas barato.

I still remember the first time I slipped on a pair of 991s, it felt like putting on a pair of socks – fantastic. That was a couple of decades ago and I have not purchased a different brand or style of running shoe since then.

I was a bit surprised when New Balance discontinued the foam cushining 991 and replaced it with the gel cushioned 992. It took a bit of getting used to but I made the transition to 992s. With the 992s also came the option to get several different colors of 992s: the 991s always only came in grey.

I was elated to learn though that the company had again upgraded to 993s which includes a combination of foam and gel. I think they’re lighter than 992s too and the feel on first putting on a pair of 993s is very similar to putting on a pair of 991s. They did keep the multiple color options of the 992 line so you can get these in black, grey, white.

Overall, I am extremely happy with this product.

Foremost on my loyalty is the commitment that the company has to local markets. The 993s are Made in the USA and in the back of each of these shoes you can see the prominent USA in bold against an American flag. They are a patriot’s shoe and they are quite popular in the military. Unlike other shoe companies that use almost slave child labor to make shoes and then sell them at horrendous profits in America, New Balance provides good jobs in the US. Yes they make less profit and they endorse fewer athletes but we buyers are loyal because:

a) its a fantastic product

b) probably the best running shoe made (don’t take my word, try one)

c) they’re made in the USA

d) the company is committed to local markets and to producing quality running shoes

No I don’t run many marathons anymore (but I have in the past) and I do love these shoes and once every couple of years when my old pair of 993s get relegated to the home repair shoe, I will go out and buy a shiny new pair of 993. It’s always just a little bit special when I put on a new pair….

Btw, my closet has a lineup from the two pairs of decade old beaten up old 991s that still come out when I do gardening to the 992s that have been recently demoted with the purchase of my 993s: Yes I still own my 991s, the go through the washer now and again and they still work even after 10 to 15 years (amazing quality)….but they can’t be seen in public anymore.

Anyhow, I hope this helps you make a decision on these shoes. It’s hard to find a running shoe that has history and character like this line and I’ll admit I’m a bit selfish here, the more popular 993s remain – the less likelihood that they’ll be discontinued before I die.

These shoes are extremly comfortable and the size was right on target. This is the third pair of running shoes I have purchased from New Balance and plan on continued purchasing of thier products. Overall these shoes are very comfortable and do not rub and part of my feet.

I’ve worn these shoes for about 6 months now. They are a great athletic casual shoe, however they are not good for running. There is not enough support or cushioning for that purpose. They go flat very quick. So if you want an awesome pair of shoes that look great, get them. But if you plan on running, walking alot, or cross training, you may want a different pair of shoes.
