I work for an ice cream shop not coldstone and we do make ice cream wedding cakes. before you decide to go with them ask alot of questions. I’ve been doing this for 15 years and can make cakes look like a picture and if I can’t I let the customer know up front. Also they probably aren’t usually in the business of delivering and setting up wedding cakes. getting your cake very cold with the help of dry ice is the key to it all. But your photo opportunity time is still very limited. Have a pretty cake for pictures. Some bakeries have dummy (display)cakes made from styro-foam they might rent to you. Then keep your ice cream cakes in the freezer and cut them before serving. Have your caterer check with the ice cream cake place so they know how to temper the cake so it can easily be cut and not be glop.

I just watched an episode of Throwdown with Bobby Flay on Food Network where he made a ginger bread cupcake with Mango buttercream frosting. It was a winner with the judges on the show and sounded awesome from the ingredients he used. Plus, you can probably log on to foodnetwork.com and find the recipe for your baker.

Otherwise, try foodnetwork.com… I get tons of ideas for recipes from there!

My wife and I had a chocolate and peanut butter flavored wedding cake. It tastes like Reese’s peanut butter cups. The bakery is in Chicago. E-mail me if you want details.

PS Coldstone sounds awesome! Unfortunately it would melt, so you could not put it out on display.

lol Idk who makes wedding cakes, but you should try something yummy like ice cream cake or cake filled with pudding or chocolate yummm or some really ritzy really expensive flavor, just for the heck of it! lol

or as a fun bridal shower game you might make your owln frosting and give it to whoever is making the cake

or for something out of the ordinary you might go with lemon flavored

or then theres some weirdo ones like carrot cake or coconut cake

there is so many yummy flavors of cake you could choose from lol
