Just recently married a little over 2 weeks now and my in laws have not mentioned or even hinted to buying us a wedding gift. Now I’m not one for pricey things, in fact I don’t have much and thank God for the little things I do have. But isn’t this kind of strange? I even wonder sometimes if my mother- in- law likes me. I am most positive that I am talked about behind my back but this doesn’t bother me either. My parents bought us 2 large expensive gifts. Even if the gift is a card or something small we’ve gotten nothing. I have not mentioned this to my new husband, but it boggles my mind all the time. And FYI they are not hurting in the $$$ dept. What gives and should I say anything or let it go?
Oh yeah and my father paid for the decorations, and we paid for our own food at the reception which was very very small (15 people). All I could think of is they helped put up the decorations, picked up the cake, and allowed us to have the wedding at their church. We gave them a thank you card last week. Still confused though.
